CSI Summer Conference: Teach Together

Most students are familiar with analytical listening from the process of standardized testing for reading comprehension. Fewer have been challenged to engage in critical listening. While the ability to gather and summarize information is crucial to basic understanding, so too is the ability to analyze and evaluate that information. Increasingly, there is a need to teach students to how to use critical listening to determine the currency, relevance, accuracy, applicability, and purpose of messages with which they are confronted in both educational and public environments.
